Premet was a Parisian fashion house operating from 1911
to 1931.
Mme. Premet was the house's original designer. She was followed by a
Mme. Lefranc and then by Mme. Charlotte, who presided from 1918
through the 1920s, the firm's most successful period. Her "La Garconne"
model, a simple black dress was her best seller; the house's "Gamine"
looks were also popular as well as influential.
Alix Gres worked for a time at Premet prior to establishing her own business.
Premet was one of a brilliant roster of French fashion houses that flourished
in the 1920s.
The house produced some famous designers including Agnes, Drecoll,
Redfern, Molyneaux, Jean Patou and Paul Poiret.
